DYNAVIS® Technology Unveiled at MINExpo® 2016
HORSHAM, PA — A new technology that saves fuel while providing more power through hydraulic fluid is being unveiled to the mining industry at MINExpo® 2016 Booth #17030 in the Silver Lot, September 26-28, 2016.
Called DYNAVIS®, this technology optimizes hydraulic fluids so they maintain viscosity at both high and low temperatures. When hydraulic fluid gets hot, it slows the transfer of energy through internal leakage of thinner fluid. Fluids formulated with DYNAVIS® technology reduce internal leakage, and the hydraulic fluid system retains efficiency at high temperatures. In extreme cold temperatures, the hydraulic system consumes more energy through its pump drive. By controlling the viscosity, DYNAVIS® helps reduce the pump’s energy consumption.
“For mining operators, the simple switch to a hydraulic fluid formulated with DYNAVIS® technology can result in substantial fuel savings of up to 30 percent,” said Drew Kohler, DYNAVIS® Marketing Manager, Americas. “In addition to fuel savings, emissions are reduced and high levels of productivity are achieved. We look forward to showing mine operators case studies and helping them connect with suppliers of fluids formulated with DYNAVIS®.”
DYNAVIS® is part of the Evonik booth, which will feature a pair of “Hydraulic Simulator” bikes that help visitors experience the difference in power when using high performance hydraulic fluids formulated with DYNAVIS® technology, as compared to monograde hydraulic oils.
As a leading provider of oil additives, Evonik develops technologies to improve fuel and energy efficiency, as well as productivity in industrial and off-highway equipment with its DYNAVIS® technology for hydraulic fluids. Evonik also develops DRIVON™ and NUFLUX™ technologies to create efficiency in engine oils, driveline fluids and gear oils.
